Learn how to make a book resist pattern to create a complex vessel / 3D form. This is a great workshop for those looking to develop their wet felting / 3d vessel making practice to make more complex shapes in one piece. The techniques you learn during the workshop will equip you with the ability to create and employ multiple resists / layers, enabling you to develop your felt making skills for future projects such as hat making, puppet making, etc.

You will learn how to:

  • Create a multiple 'book' resist template
  • Layout the wool to cover the multiple page resist.
  • Make smooth / seamless felt aournd the multiple page resists.
  • Select where and how to remove the resist
  • Work the cut edges to 'heal' the opening to remain open or closed.
  • Choose to leave the inside of the form vacant or fill.
  • Rinse, reshape, block and dry.

This workshop takes place at Silversoles Studio on Saturday 26th April 2025, 10am - 4:00pm, with a break for lunch

A most enjoyable day! Emma’s studio was warm and welcoming and was a lovely space in which to work. Emma was an excellent tutor, explaining each stage of the feltmaking process clearly and answering any questions that arose along the way. She provided a fantastic array of materials and taught us techniques for using them to best advantage .
