Design a unique tactile slip cover for your tech.
You can choose to make your Ipad / Kindle / Laptop slip cover design in a choice of colours, incorporate texture & pattern and attach a snap clousure. Learning how to create seamless 3d felt, with a 'no stitch' seamless resist construction, you will create a slip cover that's both attractive, functional and practical, helping to protect your device from damage. A great workshop for those looking to extend their feltmaking skills.
You will learn how to:
- Design your slip cover choosing your own colours, adding yarns & fibres for additional texture & pattern. Expereinced feltmakers, who have attended other feltmaking technique workshops, can choose to include other techniques to their slip cover to strech their practice & add further individuality to their design
- Create the resist pattern for your device
- Calculate the shrinkage factor for your techs' size
- Work with a resist to make a 3d seamless slipcover
- Layout the with wool to make seamless edges with
- Incorporate decorativesurface additions including, fibres such as silks, flax, soya. Add knitting yarns, recycled saris and/or other fabrics
- Attach a snap closure to secure your tech device inside the slip cover.
This workshop takes place on Saturday 15th March 2025, 10am - 4:00pm at Silversoles Studio.

Do I need to be able to felt to attend this workshop?
Some previous basic felting experience is required.
What is provided in the workshop?
All materials and equipment are provided. Illustrated handouts notes are offered to enable you to continue to practice what you learn during the workshop. We suggest you bring along a camera / camera phone to help your record the your work during the workshop.
Do I need to bring anything?
If you have a stash of yarns, fabric or other material, and which of us that love textiles doesn’t, do bring along any bits you'd like to incorporate into your work.
Should I wear specific types of clothing?
Wear old clothes and comfortable footwear. If you have a plastic laminated apron do bring it along to protect your clothing. We do have a selection of fabric aprons for your use.
How long is the workshop?
This is a day workshop: 10am - 4pm.
Participants are asked to arrive at 9:45am for a 10am start.
Do you cater for dietary restrictions?
Light refreshments are provided during all our workshops. We offer a selection of light refreshments that include traditional, herbal & fruit teas, coffee (de/caffeinated), squash and water to drink alongside sweet snacks (e.g. biscuits, flapjack, cake or seasonal fruit).
If you have any special dietary requirements please let us know in advance, and we will make adjustments to cater for your need.
